Emily was born and raised on the eastside of O‘ahu and attended the University of California Los Angeles where she received a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Public Affairs. Desiring a career that would positively impact the community that raised her, Emily went on to attend law school at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law. While there, Emily was a research assistant for a professor of law and served as Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Asian-Pacific Law and Policy Journal. In addition, Emily interned with In-House Counsel for a nonprofit investor in climate technology, volunteered at the Medical-Legal Partnership for Children in Hawai‘i, and was a Legislative Researcher for a Hawaii State Senator.
Before joining Bickerton Law Group, Emily clerked for the Honorable Jeannette H. Castagnetti, now Chief Judge of the First Circuit Court of Hawai‘i.
Outside of the office you can find Emily paddling, at the beach, or reading.
